Do we get exclusive use of the lodge?
Yes — all bookings have exclusive use of the Adventure Lodge building. Your group will not share the lodge with anyone else.
How many people can the lodge accommodate?
The lodge has 11 bunk rooms, with 2 beds per room, for a total capacity of 22 guests.
Are meals provided?
No — the lodge is self-catered. A fully equipped kitchen, multiple fridges, and a BBQ are available for your group to prepare meals.
What should guests bring?
Each guest should bring a pillow, sleeping bag (or doona), towel, and personal food supplies. We also recommend weather-appropriate clothing, toiletries, and adventure gear if needed.
Are the facilities suitable for school groups?
Yes — the lodge is purpose-built for schools and camps, with simple, practical facilities and easy supervision. Duty of care and supervision remain with school staff (no WWVP requirements on our side).ag (or doona), towel, and personal food supplies. We also recommend weather-appropriate clothing, toiletries, and adventure gear if needed.
Can we book the Gear Shed?
Yes — the Gear Shed can be added to your booking for $50 per night. It includes space for kayaks, bikes, and outdoor gear, plus wetsuit racks, wash tubs, and a wood heater with firewood.
How far is the lodge from Hobart?
The Adventure Lodge is located at 5929 Arthur Highway, Taranna — about a 1-hour drive from Hobart. The site is accessible for buses, cars, and trailers.
What activities are nearby?
Guests can enjoy diving, snorkelling, bushwalking, kayaking, surfing, and cultural visits. We also work with Go Dive Tasmania for boat hire, dive guides, and equipment rental.
Is camping available?
Not yet — but we’re working on a camping area and outdoor fire pit space for group use in the near future.
